Amy joined HRW in March 2010 as our Field Manager, having come from her career working in the music industry for 13 years. She brings with her lots of experience in team management, negotiations and administration which will stand her in good stead for building HRW’s brand new field department.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys shopping and spending time with her daughter often trying to decide where to holiday next!

Caitlin joined HRW in October 2010 as a Trainee Field Controller; prior to joining us she completed a Higher Education Diploma in Fashion and Textiles and had some experience working in Market Research already having worked as a telephone interviewer part time while studying.

In her spare time she loves shopping and socialising with friends as well as indulging her creative side by customising and make her own clothes!

Managing Director

Caroline has been Managing Director of HRW since its birth in 2001.

Following completion of a PhD in Physiology (researching Stress Susceptibility in Pigs no less), Caroline started her career in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical representative. Fourteen years, and a wide variety of sales and marketing roles later, Caroline expanded her horizons, joined HRW and hasn’t looked back.

When she isn’t shoe shopping, Caroline loves to spend time in the French Alps - either walking in the summer or skiing (or is it après skiing?) in the winter.

Es joined HRW in 2004 and brings to the team over 6 years of experience. She designs and manages both qualitative and quantitative projects internationally and has worked across therapy areas and HRW's portfolio of methodologies.

Although she likes the variety of her role she has an interest in Diabetes.

Es keeps herself very busy in her spare time; socialising, gymming, learning Italian and seeing the world whenever she can.

Frances joined HRW in 2011 after graduating with a degree in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Sheffield. As someone with a keen interest in broadening her knowledge of the healthcare world and finding out what makes people tick, she is looking forward to getting involved in a whole range of HRW projects.

Outside of work, Frances enjoys watching international films, traveling the world and working on her language skills. She also has a love of cooking and enjoys nothing more than a bit of Sunday afternoon cake-baking!

Gillian joined HRW in 2008, having spent most of her working life in healthcare market research (agency and client side). Gillian has led a wide range of UK and international projects, both qual and quant, including extensive work in areas such as market understanding, profile optimisation, branding and positioning. Gillian has a particular interest in specialist therapy areas, especially oncology.

Most of Gillian’s spare time seems to be taken up with DIY and decorating, but when she finds a few moments spare she enjoys hosting ‘dinner parties’ (her lasagna is famous!)

Huw joined HRW in September 2011 after graduating from Plymouth University with a BSc in Events Management. He brings his organisational skills and his previous experience of working in market research as a telephone interviewer on a range of quantitative and qualitative projects to the team.

Huw enjoys writing and recording music in his spare time as well as running, hiking and mountain biking. He also spends his summers endeavouring to attend every music festival the country has to offer.

Deputy Managing Director

Jeanette is a Director of HRW having joined in 2005. She stumbled across healthcare market research some years ago (22!) and enjoyed it from the start. In addition to her Board roles, Jeanette regularly designs, directs and manages qualitative and quantitative international research across HRW’s portfolio of clients.

Jeanette can frequently be found shopping for handbags and “sparkly things” in Wallingford and when she’s at home, loves cooking with her husband, walking their two Staffordshire Bull Terriers (Louie and Charley – well known characters to the HRW team), reading and watching football.

Kirsty joined HRW at the end of November 2009 looking forward to the challenges a new career would offer. Kirsty graduated from St Andrews with an MA and post-graduate M.Litt in Modern French History in 2006 and decided to get some work experience in John Lewis before making her career choice. This is her first step in her research career and she is eager to develop new skills and contribute to the HRW team.

In her spare time she enjoy cakes, comedy and films. She have also recently taken up karate and believes she will be a dangerous black belt pretty soon!

Lizzie joined HRW in 2011 after graduating from Durham University with a BA in Anthropology, having already spent a year working in education. She is now excited about starting a career in market research as it will allow her to continue studying human behaviour and get involved in a wide variety of projects.

In her spare time Lizzie likes cycling, rowing and going to the gym as well as more relaxing activities like socialising with friends and learning Spanish.

Marissa joined HRW in October 2010 after completing an MA in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine at Durham University, which was funded by the Wellcome Trust. Being a Trainee Research Executive at HRW is her first professional job after leaving university, but she has had a long term interest both in health care provision and research.

After doing a dissertation on patient narratives from depressed Victorian intellectuals, Marissa felt right at home with some of the innovative qualitative methods employed by HRW. In her spare time she likes belly dancing which caters to her love of all things sparkly.

Nicola started her career in market research in 1996 and has worked across a broad spectrum of different categories including OTC, pharmaceutical and FMCG. With a strong focus on analysis and interpretation she aims to find sound business solutions and opportunities for HRWs clients, often combining both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Outside of work, Nicola unwinds with regular yoga classes – sometimes as a student and often as the teacher.

Having spent the previous 8 years working in B2C and B2B research at first Harris Interactive and later Maven Research, Paul joined HRW in January 2011. Paul is very experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research, having managed projects across a wide variety of sectors and markets and is now enjoying the challenge of working across a wide range of therapy areas.

At the weekends, Paul can normally be found at the Madejski Stadium, cheering on his beloved Reading FC, or down the pub, thinking up ideas for the next in a long line of fancy dress charity football matches he tries to organise every year.

Pete worked for HRW in 2006 as a freelancer and enjoyed the experience so much, he joined permanently in January 2007. More than 10 years after entering the world of market research, with experience across pharmaceutical, retail, B2B and FMCG, Pete continues to enjoy the variety and challenges of quant. and qual. research.

At weekends, Pete loves being with his family, and dreams of returning to the Lake District. He also sneaks out on the bike into the Chilterns when possible, even if it’s not quite as exhilarating as Blencathra or Crinkle Crags.

Peter joined HRW in 2010 after finishing his degree in The Biology of Fertility and Embryo Development. He was drawn to market research as he has natural curiosity of the world and how it works.

After work Peter enjoys reading Science Fiction novels, although he buys loads but usually forgets to read them. He also enjoys swimming and socialising with his friends.

Robyn joined HRW in September 2011 after moving to the UK from South Africa to read for an MSc in Social intervention at Oxford University, specialising in HIV prevention in sub-Saharan Africa. Since graduating last year she has worked on a number of research projects including working with the World Health Organisation to develop ethical guidelines for conducting research with adolescents. She is really looking forward to working on a variety of projects and further developing her research career within HRW.

Outside of work Robyn enjoys rowing competitively for her boat club, playing squash and travelling the world.

Sarah joined HRW in January 2011 after graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a BSc in Exercise, Nutrition and Health. She has always had a keen interest in the healthcare sector and after relocating to Oxford to pursue her market research career, she wishes to broaden and develop her knowledge further within all areas of HRW.

In her spare time Sarah can be found socialising with friends, enjoying good food and drink as well as traveling the world.

Sarah Fountain joined HRW in October 2010 as Sarah Murphy, who had been a UK Field Manager for 7 ½ years at a Qualitative Healthcare Research Agency. Sarah has spent her years developing a network of suppliers across the world, implementing a number of procedures and processes to be able to run an organised field department and supporting the operations and research teams with various tasks.

When Sarah is not working, you can find her busying about being a mum to Jessica and attending local boot camps, cycling, running, yoga, zumba or simply enjoying some good wine and food with her husband and friends!

Sian Joined HRW in July 2007. She graduated with a BSc in Psychology in 2006 and has always been interested in human behaviour and the theories that lie behind it. This led her to a career in market research. She has worked on a variety of projects and therapy areas and enjoys the challenges they provide.

Sian has taken up running and although she hasn’t found it easy, loves the sense of achievement she gets from it (well, most of the time!). Sian also enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping and snorkeling.
