At HRW our strength is our people. We value our multi-disciplinary team and all the fun and interesting people that make our company so successful. In case you didn’t realise how delightful our people are, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight a few of our delightful team members around the world, starting with an interview with Research Manager Kirsty Page:

Q: So, Kirsty, What’s your back story?
Kirsty: I’m Kirsty Page (otherwise known as KP or Page). I’m a Research Manager who has been at HRW for 5 years and progressed from TRE to RM in that time. Before working here, I worked in a veterinary surgery, and before that I studied Modern History for my MA at St Andrews University (where my university career overlapped with that of Prince William) and then went on to focus on Modern French History for my M.Litt. I work in the Wallingford House office.

Q: What do you do outside of work?
Kirsty: I love going to see stand-up comedy, it’s a big passion. I have seen Stephen Merchant, Greg Davies, Ricky Gervais and Eddie Izzard a lot, by my absolute favourite is Tim Minchin, who is my comedy god. I am also a bit of a film geek and went to see ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’ at the cinema 15 times.

Q: What do you like most about working at HRW?
Kirsty: I love the team, I also like the fact that we have so much variety and so many different therapy areas and projects to work on which really makes for an interesting and dynamic environment.

Q: Tell me about a project that really interested you.
Kirsty: I worked in a project that was talking to patients suffering from head and neck cancer who are in the US. It was absolutely fascinating and a good learning curve in terms of learning to dissociate personal feeling and empathy when required as it would be so easy to be shocked and traumatised by what these patients go through. In that way, my training that HRW has given me is invaluable.

Q: Tell me about something on your desk that makes you smile.
Kirsty: I have a massive toy of Mike Wazowski from ‘Monsters Inc.’ sitting on my desk that was given to me as a birthday present. I always find him sitting in odd positions, and people swear it is not them. I have come to the conclusion he must be magic.
