STOP THE PRESS! The HRW London team has an exciting announcement to make: – we have found a new home! We are now the very proud new occupants of suite 311 at 150 Minories, but let’s start from the beginning…

How we got there?

Most of us who have had the pleasure of moving offices before know that it is a mammoth operation. I’m sure you’ll agree that this is task that needs to be run with military precision: spreadsheets, shared responsibilities, and clear communication from our amazing “Move Coordination” team helped us through it!

Our moving plan was, as to be expected by a group of analytical project managers, meticulously coordinated: with every detail planned to utmost precision. The amount of effort and sheer determination that went into making this happen smoothly (without disruption to our precious research) is overwhelming! Our IT team deserve a special mention here, as they too were absolutely amazing: managing the whole process without the slightest technical glitch. We left the old office on one day, just to find that everything was already ready and waiting in the new office the next day. Personally, with these guys on board, I am happy to move offices every week (but don’t tell them I said that!)

So, what about the new office?

In our new home, you’ll firstly be welcomed by our wonderful new reception staff: armed with user-friendly electronic sign-in and tip-top communication and support for our London team.

Hop in the lifts to the 3rd floor, and you’ll arrive into our beautiful, open plan, shared area with comfortable seating, fancy coffee machine and complimentary fruit. This also houses a soundproof phone pod for those tricky TDIs and sensitive calls, and a large, boardroom-style table.

Wander down the corridor, and you’ll find our light and airy office space, with large windows and no-nonsense air conditioning, which has already been put to the test in this very hot weather we’ve been having… You’ll find a large meeting room ready for use inside our office, as well as another phone pod. Elsewhere in our new building, we have plenty of large, catered meeting rooms, which look very comfortable and super techie!

Oh, and not to forget a major selling point for our healthy London squad is the gym downstairs- which is also complimentary. Keeping us fit, and ready to tackle even the most difficult of research challenges!

And the surroundings?

Nearby, we’ve found plenty of places to eat, that’s for sure. Both fancy and non, sit down and food trucks, you have it all. So, if you are ever planning on visiting and want to explore what this part of the city has to offer – you will not be short of choices.

There is also a very small Green adjacent to St. Botolph CoE, which offers a luscious grass area for a quick al-fresco lunch. For the more adventurous – the Tower of London and the river are only a short walk away. Aldgate station is right on the doorstep, serviced by Circle and Metropolitan lines. Slightly further, but still within walking distance, are Fenchurch and Liverpool street national rail stations, so we are definitely right at the heart of it!

Although we’ve only been in the new office for a short time yet, we know we will be incredibly happy here and cannot wait to welcome our visitors soon…
