Union

As I reflect on my first 90 days as VP at HRW, initially I expected to guide teams and drive strategy. What I did not expect was how much I would be challenged, supported and inspired to grow alongside them.

Collaboration That Is Felt, Not Forced

From day one, collaboration was not just encouraged, it was instinctive. You feel it in every meeting, every brainstorm, every Teams message. The collaborative culture at HRW reveals itself not through posters or presentations, but through people.

Over the past 90 days, I’ve come to appreciate how much curiosity drives our work. There’s a genuine openness to listening first, asking questions, and learning from one another. It’s not about having all the answers but rather building them together. That mindset has made it easy to find my feet, even in a fast-paced environment.

What is most refreshing is that collaboration here is not performative. It is not about ticking boxes or using trendy language. It is about valuing what each person brings, whether it is deep therapeutic expertise, a passion for a particular methodology or a fresh perspective on innovations. Everyone’s experience is treated as an asset, making the work better, smarter, more nuanced and more impactful.

Ideas That Spark Action

As a VP, I’ve had the opportunity to lead strategic oversight on key studies and guide client relationships. But what’s truly energising is how ideas, regardless of where they come from, are met with enthusiasm and action. Every idea I’ve brought forward hasn’t just been acknowledged, it’s been met with a “yes, let’s make this happen.” Not just in theory, but in practice: time gets booked, teams mobilise, and before you know it, you’re building something new.

Looking Ahead: Purposeful Progress

HRW is a place that gives you a space to drive the future and direction of the company, and that opportunity isn’t reserved for senior roles. Every employee is encouraged to participate, share ideas, and act on them. And even as a leader, where teams look to me for guidance, I’ve found that I’m constantly learning and pushing myself, growing along the company’s evolution. That kind of environment is unique, and it’s what makes the work here feel both meaningful and motivating.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep growing in this environment. To keep listening, learning, and contributing to the kind of progress that only happens when diverse minds come together with purpose as i continue my journey as VP at HRW.
